Carly showing someone the truth about drugs booklet
Carly’s Corner
About Me:
My name is Carly Crutchfield, I am 26 and I live in Sydney.
My uncle overdosed and died from heroin when I was a teenager and other people I know have also died from drug use. I am going to make REAL drug education a FACT in Australia – not an idealistic dream that we all just wish could happen. I am getting factual drug education into schools, clubs, sports groups, workplaces - you name it. But it takes more than just me.
I have no doubt that this absolutely CAN be done and we already are doing it. I have received so much support on this important campaign from nation wide prime time media to thousands of kids, mums and dads that I haven’t personally met, offering their time and help. There are a lot of good dedicated groups out there working to help. With the tool I have with this program, we can provide even more to those already working to combat the harm of drugs and also start up new activities, so we fill every single nook and cranny with factual drug education information that tells the truth about drugs.
The drug-free message is one that people want to hear; it’s just a matter of telling it in the right way with the right information so people can understand it and follow it.
What I am doing
- For over ten years I have been involved in making real drug education a fact in Australia.
- I have handed out thousands of ”Truth About Drugs” booklets at dance parties, festivals, schools, and general public places. Also tens of thousands of the “Facts about Marijuana” booklets and fliers.
- I have done lectures to schools, work-places, youth groups and more.
- I have a drug salvage myspace website that promotes the Drug Salvage campaign and educates on the truth about drugs, and gains daily supports from all over the world and has helped educate countless people on the real harm of drugs.
- I have worked privately with individuals to help them stop using drugs and get clean.
- Watch this space, because I have many more plans and projects in the pipeline that will be announced soon!
Drugs Just Aren’t Cool!!!
For too long there has been a falsity pushed that “drugs are okay” or “drugs are cool”. This is of course as far from the truth as possible. I mean, since when was dying cool? Or lapsing into drug-induced coma? Or becoming brain-dead? Becoming sterile and unable to have children? Or losing your kids? Friends? Family? When did that become cool???
This “cool” campaign has been very smartly pedalled by the drug industry by trying to make drugs seem romantic and fun. We young people don’t even realise it until you start really learning about drugs. They do this by calling deadly mixes of chemicals names such as “ICE” or “ECSTACY” or marking these chemicals with trendy logos or smiley faces. It is all worked out ahead of time. It is brilliant, but deadly marketing that has filled our young people for generations with the wrong idea. And who profits? The drug seller is the one walking away with the big bucks in their back pocket.
If you have ever seen a drug addict or someone “coming down” off a high, you will know that they look and feel really sick – not cool! And this is a fact I am going to make KNOWN.
I really do need your help
I admit that I’ve gone out on a limb, I’m thinking big and have set myself a pretty big target. Having said that I am not being naïve in the execution of this campaign. I know that it will take many people jumping on board and helping spread the word if we are to make a dent on the war on drugs and really turn the tides.
But this campaign really is simple and straight forward. We just need to get the facts out there and widely known by the public. This means school kids, young adults, drug users, politicians, teachers, professionals, world leaders – EVERYONE.
If the facts about drug are known it will eradicate the falsities and individuals will be able to make informed decisions. In most cases people will choose life over death and dreams over drugs. Using drugs doesn’t mean that you have knowledge about that drug.
But if the only information out there is lies about “feeling good” or falsehoods of “fun times” then we will lose and more people we know will die and ruin their lives from lack of knowledge turning into drug use.
So I would love it if you want to jump on board and help out, I have so many projects happening and ways that you could help; here are just some ways you could lend a hand;

The first box has the books lined up five down and two across. The second box has them two down and five across. Choose the one you want and put it on your site!
